SUPERSEED has distributed its first donation to end users. Over the weekend, we delivered 50 "Fire Extinguishing Balls" to six volunteer welfare organisations (VWOs). These fire extinguishers activate automatically when they come into contact with fire. They also act as fire alarms.
The extinguishers - given to SUPERSEED by ADVANCE MAKKO - were donated to Children's Society Convalescent Home, Geylang East Home for the Aged, Jamiyah Children's Home, Pertapis Senior Citizen's Home and both locations of the Sun-Dac Centre for the Disabled (Chai Chee and Choa Chu Kang).
Fire Extinguishing Balls have been in use in Thailand for nearly a decade. They were approved for sale in Singapore this year.
A few figures:
* The extinguishers retail for S$75 a piece.
* Advance Makko donated 50 units.
* The total value of the donation is S$3,750.
More important than the money, of course, is that the recipient homes are now an even safer place to live. SUPERSEED decided to distribute the items to children's homes, homes for the aged and centres for the disabled as the residents in these locations are less likely to be able to use a traditional fire extinguisher in an emergency.
Thanks to James Leong for providing transport and helping deliver the items!
